Hello ASHRAE! This month's presentation will focus on updates from the recent 2025 Texas Legislative Session concerning the construction industry and will be given by Andy Harris with Andrews Meyers. It will be a broad overview of the 2025 changes, along with insight into how the new legislation may affect ASHRAE members and the construction industry in Texas. Bring questions and ask them!
Before attending law school, Andy worked as a project manager for a general contractor. Andy's background adds a practical dimension to his analysis and makes the content highly relevant to engineers, contractors, and owners alike. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting out, this event promises to be both enlightening and engaging.

Meet the Speaker

Andrew Harris
Bio:
Andy Harris is a senior associate at Andrew Meyers, located in the Austin, Texas office. Mr. Harris focuses on advocating for general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and owners on a variety of construction-related issues including litigation, contract negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Harris has experience with construction defects, delay and acceleration claims, lien and bond claims, payment disputes, termination claims, commercial lease issues, and surety claims. Mr. Harris has also drafted and negotiated a variety of construction contracts, including prime contracts, design contracts, and subcontracts. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Harris worked for a roofing contractor, estimating and managing projects throughout the Midwest and Texas.
